LEARN MORE. . .
These are pictures of an actual Papillon that was surrendered by a puppy mill at the age of 12!!!
She was used to breed the very adorable Papillon puppies that were sold by pet stores.
Betsy, as she was named by her PCA foster home, lost one of her legs from a trauma
which was never surgically treated. Because of the
abuse she endured by spending her entire life in a cage with little human contact, she was never
able to be adopted out. Instead, she spent the last months of her life with her forever foster home.
This last pic is of Betsey after being in the good care of her foster home.
If you feel compelled to purchase a puppy from a pet store, remember Betsy's eyes and realize that with each puppy sold,
two Papillons (the sire and dam) are condemned to a life of misery. If you already purchased a pet (any pet) from a pet
store, don't feel guilty. Who could imagine the real horrors behind the pet store puppy? Do, however, stay out of
pet stores that sell any kind of animal. Support the ones that don't sell living animals.
